It is in contact with the positioning datum of the workpiece and is used to determine the correct position of the workpiece in the fixture, so as to ensure the relative correct position of the workpiece relative to the tool and the machining movement of the machine tool during processing.

2. Clamping device

It is used to clamp the workpiece and keep the workpiece in the fixed position in the fixture during cutting.

3. Tool setting, guiding element or device

The function of these elements is to ensure the correct position between the workpiece and the tool. The components used to determine the correct position of the tool before machining are called tool setting components, such as tool setting blocks. The element used to determine the position of the tool and guide the tool for processing is called the guiding element.

4. Connecting components

The components that connect the fixture to the machine tool ensure the mutual positional relationship between the machine tool and the fixture.

5. Folder specific

Used to connect or fix various components and devices on the fixture to make it an integral basic piece. It is connected and aligned with the relevant parts of the machine tool, so that the fixture has a definite position relative to the machine tool.

6. Other components and devices

Some fixtures must have an indexing mechanism according to the processing requirements of the workpiece, and the milling machine fixtures must also have positioning keys.

These components are not indispensable for every machine tool fixture, but any fixture must have positioning elements and clamping devices, which are the key to ensuring the accuracy of the workpiece, and the purpose is to make the workpiece accurate and clamped.
